Thanks for posting that cyberguy. I am in a similar situation with my father at the moment and the responses to it apply to me also.
I know I can get over it, but my old man is a hellfire and brimstone preacher from wayback and forgiveness does not run in his veins regardless of what he, (or the bible), says. It might take him a while, but I am sure he will come right eventually. Hopefully he will think about the things I have said.
Seeds of doubt.
Plant, plant, water, water.

Just Became A Russellite!
by Carmel init took me over a month of patience, waiting and praying, but finally after a "home visit" i made the leap.
after paying the "initiation" fee and getting the requisit rabies shots at the vet, i brought home the cutest jack russel terrier you've ever seen.
now the cat is pissed and fled for the back 40.

If your still-JW parent died...
by starfish422 inwould you attend the funeral/memorial service?
assuming that it would be held in a kh; or even if it wasn't.. this is something that's been on my mind lately; honestly, i'm not sure why.
my parents are both still relatively young; 60 and 61. my dad has been diagnosed with skin cancer but both are otherwise healthy.. i really don't know whether i would; particularly for my father.

I have been to many and will go to many more in the future.
I recently went to a 'worldly funeral' , the service was like a breath of fresh air compared to the 'extra meetings' that have been served up for my rellies.

What was the first computer you ever owned?
by Nosferatu inwhat was the first computer you ever owned?
for me it was the trs-80 model 1. i bought it for $10 at a second hand store when i was 10 years old.
took me forever to find info on the thing, an manual, and a patchcord to hook up a cassette deck.

A ZX81 that finished it's life as a data logger in my soap box racer. Then a couple of 48k ZX Spectrum+, wrote machine code games on these things without the help of a compiler. Even wrote a cheat program for Manic Miner so that I could practice any level I wanted. Next was a couple of QLs if anybody still remembers them.
I still have most of them and the last time I plugged them in they still worked. Also have a couple of working Macs, a Mac Plus and a Pizza Box LCIII.
And I still have every laptop I have ever owned.

Sorry to hear about your brother Blueblades. Be grateful that you have had a brother for so many years. I missed out on that pleasure as my parents were ardent followers of Rutherford and I am sure I am a result of a broken condom.
Remember the good times you had together, he will always be with you in your heart.

New Divorce Rules ???
by jazbug ina friend of mine is getting a divorce because her husband is questioning the wts...he's sick of the cover-ups...in light of a new elder abuse case here.
she says she can't lie with someone who is going to talk against the wts..so i asked her how she could get a divorce for those reasons.
evidentally, the co came to talk to her and because she can't get govt.

My wife and I love each other very much, but I have recently changed my position from 'faded JW offspring' to what can easily be described as someone who is of 'Extreme Spiritual Endangerment'. We don't talk about religion much, and haven't for years, but my father stirred things up a few months ago with his 'Armageddon is nigh' prophesy which resulted in my investigating WT BS & TS literature and has ended up with my wife becoming aware of my disgust at the BS in the Trinity booklet where she told my that "if you want to know all about the trinity, it is all in there."
I just hope that love is stronger that WT BS.

How do you score?
Even if YOU don't know what faith you are, Belief-O-Matic? knows. Answer 20 questions about your concept of God, the afterlife, human nature, and more, and Belief-O-Matic? will tell you what religion (if any) you practice...or ought to consider practicing.
